Chris Owings (SS, ARZ) - Waiver Wire Pickups

BALLER MOVE: Add Immediately in All Leagues

ANALYSIS: Chris Owings is the most popular option for owners who left the draft without a quality bat at shortstop. The main reason he went largely undrafted was because he was in a position battle with Didi Gregarious, but he came out on top and has the bat to stay in the majors. Owings is not a power hitting prospect, but do not take his ability at the plate lightly because this guy can hit all day. In AAA last season he hit for a .330 AVG, 12 HR, and swiped 20 bases. He has possible 20/20 potential - which at shortstop you will sign for everyday, and twice on Sunday. Owings will begin the season batting at the bottom of  the order, but he has the ability to find his way to the top of the order. Pick him up off the waiver wire immediately if he's still available in your league, and enjoy.
