CBB DFS Lineup Picks - FanDuel Advice: NCAA March Madness Sweet 16 (3/26/15)

With March Madness finally here, there is nothing better than a little CBB DFS. Many people fill out brackets for the NCAA college basketball tournament, and DFS games have become increasingly popular as well.

Below are our favorite FanDuel DFS picks for the Sweet Sixteen (Day 1) of the NCAA Tournament, March 26th, 2015. The first three rounds were filled with lots of great games, and hopefully today will be just as fun and exciting, including your DFS games on FanDuel.

CBB DFS Players to Target

Ron Baker – G Wichita State, $7,800

Baker, a sharpshooting guard is going to have a field day against Notre Dame. Notre Dame, for some reason, does not think its important to play defense. They give up an enormous amount of threes and especially a lot of transition threes. That is where Baker feasts. With Van Vleet always pushing the pace and drawing an enormous amount of attention, look for Baker to have a field day.

 

Jerian Grant – G Notre Dame, $9,600

Grant is the most expensive guard on FanDuel for Thursday’s games. At $9,600 he might not be priced high enough. He is a dynamic scorer and loves to push the pace. Grant shoots very funky shots in the lane and somehow manages to hit most of them. He is also deadly from behind the arc. In what could be the highest scoring game of the day, Grant is the best scorer in the game. Look for Grant to also get teammates involved once he draws a lot of attention.

 

CBB DFS Value Plays

Trey Lyles– F Kentucky, $5,800

Lyles, Kentucky’s starting small forward, is 6’10”. At 6’10” Lyles is very good at putting the ball on the floor and drawing contact. West Virginia plays a very high paced defense that tries to create a lot of turnovers. Therefore West Virginia also fouls more than any team left in the tournament. Lyle’s will use that to his advantage and be a huge part in the press break, while drawing a lot of fouls. Look for a potentially big game from a very underrated player because of the players around him.

 

Zach Auguste – G Notre Dame, $6,600

Wichita State is very fast and skilled but there best players are the guards. Auguste can run the floor very well. Look for him to get some very easy opportunities down low in transition. He can use his big frame when Notre Dame has to set up the half court and could dominate the glass. Look for Auguste to be a pretty big part of the game plan for Notre Dame as he has been very prolific down low so far this tournament.

 

CBB DFS Players to avoid

Devin Williams – F West Virginia, $7,500

Devin Williams has had a great tournament so far. He plays high pressure defense and muscles his around the post. Against an undersized Maryland team, Devin Williams was very effective and able to be a bully down low. Unfortunately for West Virginia, Kentucky is going to be able to bully Williams down low. The size is way too overwhelming and the post defense of Kentucky is way too good to let Williams establish himself and gain a rhythm.

 

Matt Stainbrook– F Xavier $7,100

Stainbrook has had as good of a tournament as anyone so far, putting up some very impressive numbers. The part-time Uber driver’s great run may come to a halt Thursday. Arizona is very large and can match up with anyone in the country. They play defense as a team and if one player is doing well they game plane to take him out completely. Look for Arizona to force the ball out of Stainbrook’s hands and make someone else beat them.

 

Marcus Paige – G North Carolina, $8,300

Marcus Paige is arguably North Carolina’s most important player. He is there best scorer and best deep threat by a long shot. He is very impressive at knifing his way through the lane and finishing in traffic. Unfortunately for Paige though, Wisconsin plays elite team defense and does not leave shooters open. Paige will have to work very hard for everything and when he is not hot he sometimes gets frustrated and forces up bad shots. Wisconsin will game plan to frustrate Paige and force him to give up the ball.
